Josie Holland
instructor
Josie's dance journey started right here at The Young at Arts when she attended her first Tutu Time class at the age of 2. It was here that Josie fell in love with dancing and the performing arts.
Throughout her time at the studio, Josie took part in many performance opportunities. She joined the intensive program at the age of 6 and trained in a variety of styles. Josie furthered her training by participating in masterclasses and conventions at the Edge Performing Arts Centre in Hollywood, Disney Performing Arts, and more. A highlight of Josie's dance Journey was performing in the "Elite Holiday Spectacular" Parade and Showcase in Disneyland. She finds joy in performing and making people smile.
Josie is a graduate of Langley Fine Arts School where she majored in dance and trained in the styles of contemporary and modern. There, she had many opportunities to develop her artistry, both as a dancer and choreographer. Josie has a genuine passion for working with children, and currently attends Trinity Western University where she studies Elementary Education. She began volunteering as a Teaching Assistant at YAA when she was 11 years old, and knew she wanted to have a career working with kids.
Now, she teaches at YAA and feels blessed to have a job where she can do what she loves surrounded by amazing people. Josie believes in encouraging curiosity and imagination in children as well as modelling compassion and kindness. She especially loves watching young dancers explore their artistic side and she is passionate about helping her students succeed.
